Key Dates:

  • August 16, 2021: Mail-in ballots sent out. Return by mail or deposit at drop-off locations throughout the county.

  • August 30, 2021: Last day to register to vote.

  • September 11-13, 2021: Early voting locations open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person voting.

  • September 14, 2021: Election Day. Polls open from 7 a.m. through 8 p.m. for in-person voting.

July 5th Headline Speaker: Judy Ki, on AAPI History and Incidents of Asian Hate

Judy founded the San Diego County AAPI Democratic Club in 2012 and served on the State of California’s Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs from 2012-2016. She was honored with the Heritage Award in 2019 by the API Legislative Affairs Caucus for her Excellence in Civic Engagement. Earlier this year Judy was appointed by Mayor Todd Gloria to serve on San Diego’s API Advisory Board.

Also on July 10th,

Lori Van Orden spoke on Gun Sense Initiatives, the impact of the pandemic on gun sales and the increase in homicides, as well as gun violence restraining orders.

Tommy Hough spoke June 5th  on: "The Growth of the Right-Wing Media over the Past 50 Years"

Tommy Hough is currently a San Diego County Planning Commissioner and founder of San Diego Democrats for Environmental Action. He is a former radio host, the morning guy at 91X most recently (2014-2017), on the air at FM 94/9 for 10 years (2002-2012), and briefly at 102.1 KPRI.

Also on June 5th, Marlon Taylor, member of Encinitas Union District School Board addressed the club on School openings and current projects.
